LEARNING IN THE TIME OF CORONA
overcoming the challenge of covid-19
Due to the recent outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, schools and higher education institutions are having to quickly react to this new situation by converting their courses into an online format. Switching to an online format isn’t just a matter of showing the same slides on Zoom or Adobe Connect, and a transition to more effective remote learning takes time.
To aid this process, and offer a way forward, Nordic Rebels is proposing virtual micromodules as a means to ensure there will be no disruptions in quality teaching. These micromodules have three purposes:
They can be combined in any way imaginable
They can be utilized in more than one course
They can integrate seamlessly with your existing teaching infrastructure
In addition, while we’re a small and young team and organization, given these are unprecedented and turbulent times, and in line with our Nordic Rebels manifesto, we’re not setting a fixed pricing structure for this.
You name your price.
A two part solution
We understand that most teachers do not have enough time to invest in creating fully engaging online learning experiences, and to mitigate that, we are offering a two part, virtual micromodules, solution.
Part 1
First we focus on the need for immediate use, and our micromodules provide meaningful learning experiences that provide greater engagement. We offer sufficient content for the time it takes to ramp up and complete Part 2.
Part 2
Educators go through our micromodule on “how to make micromodules”, in order to help boost their competence development. Optionally, we can also provide periodic feedback and consulting after this to help ensure that current and future remote instruction has high quality and engagement.
Delivery Structure
We have the capacity to deliver up to 35 unique micromodules, ranging from topics such as Service Design and Teamwork, to Design Research and Change Management. Each micromodule will correspond to approximately three hours of work. As such, nine micromodules will form 1 ECTS (1 European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System or ECTS = 26-27 hours of work). However, this is only an estimate provided by Nordic Rebels: it is up to the teacher in charge to either shorten or extend the amount of required hours.
In addition, each package comes with:
content in a format agreed by the client
teachers’ manual for utilizing the content
selection of methods to create engaging learning experiences
setup to work with existing learning infrastructure, without needing the hassle of getting into expensive, new platforms.
Part 1 (7-10 days)
1 - Learning diagnosis
2 - Delivery proposal
3 - Delivery phase
Part 2 (7-10 days)
1 - Attend micromodule
2 - Evaluation Phase
3 - Co-Design Workshops
in all our micromodules, you get
award winning content
Start with the rich content that has already been produced, focusing on a challenge, a project and the skills of the future, and then customize it in a way that provides what your students need. We provide the content, tools and methods to deliver quality blended learning in topics that intersect design, business, strategy and entrepreneurship .
virtual & hands on learning
Our learning structure features virtual content that includes podcasts, video episodes and learning material that can be consumed flexibly, without requiring a physical presence. This is combined with hands on learning, often while tackling the wicked problem you’re facing, which lets us take the learning to where the learners are.
In addition, if one of our readymade courses isn’t enough, our offerings go beyond the normal course format and we can optimize it for your needs.
